At Ultima Hearing Centre, our commitment to supporting patients extends far beyond helping them select and test a new hearing aid. Our caring, conscientious staff offer free product demonstrations and a free trial to assist patients as they choose the best hearing aid to fit their needs.
After patients purchase a hearing aid, we continue to support them. We recognize that it takes patients between four to six weeks to fully adjust to wearing a hearing aid. Patients need different amounts of time for their brains to adapt to and process sounds they are not accustomed to hearing. During the adjustment period, patients will have subsequent appointments dedicated to testing how well they are adapting to wearing a hearing aid. The number and frequency of follow up visits depends on the type of hearing aid the patient selects, as well as how long it takes their body and mind to acclimatize to processing new sounds.
In addition to appointments during the adjustment period, Ultima Hearing Centre also sees patients for regular follow up visits, as well as when they need to maintain or repair their hearing aid(s). Advances in Hearing Aid Technology

All staff members receive training as new hearing aid options and technologies become available in an ongoing effort to provide the most current information to our patients, as well as to correctly demonstrate how to use new types of hearing aids. Our clinic takes pride in offering the newest, most advanced technology in the hearing aid industry as soon as it is available.
In the past, hearing aids predominantly used analog technology (amplifying sounds by making sound waves larger and easier to hear). There are two types of analog hearing aids – conventional and programmable. Conventional analog hearing aids can be fine-tuned manually, but are not as flexible or adjustable as programmable analog hearing aids. The programmable version of an analog hearing aid is controlled by a computer, and can be easily modified at the clinic by a staff member.
At Ultima Hearing Centre, our most popular hearing aids use state of the art digital technology. These hearing aids are able to break continuous sound waves into manageable chunks of digital information. Our most powerful digital hearing aids have computer chips that can process sound as fast as 200 million calculations per second; they are able to amplify even the softest sounds of speech while simultaneously minimizing unwanted noises. In comparison to analog hearing aids, digital hearing aids are easier to adjust and more versatile when processing sounds.
Hearing aid manufacturers have a wide range of digital options with basic to very advanced features. We carry a wide selection of digital hearing aids to offer patients flexibility and affordability when selecting the best option to meet their needs.
Objective Hearing Test and Fitting
At Ultima Hearing Centre, we use state-of-the-art equipment to conduct your hearing test, diagnose your hearing condition and provide you with the best hearing aid options. We pride ourselves on only fitting hearing aids after completing a verification via real-ear measurement (REM).

At Ultima Hearing Centre, we understand that it is extremely important for us to be able to connect with and make our patients feel comfortable, especially if they are visiting the clinic to purchase a hearing aid for the first time.
The team at Ultima Hearing Centre will perform hearing tests (and share their findings), as well as present information about different types of hearing aids to patients. It is extremely important to test patients accurately and communicate product information and features clearly to help our patients make the best possible choices.
When selecting our team, we recognize that each member must have very strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Another goal for our clinic was to assemble a team able to communicate with patients in several different languages. We Make Returns and Exchanges Easy
We understand that a great deal of care and consideration goes into selecting and purchasing a hearing aid. However, we recognize that there may be instances when patients need to return or exchange their hearing aid.
To make patients feel supported and comfortable at our clinic at all times, we offer a seamless return and exchange policy.
The standard trial period is 90 days. If you choose to return the hearing aids within this period, we only charge a minor restocking fee which covers the costs of the clinic and the clinician’s time.
